Mission Statement

The radiography program sponsored by Bergen Community College is committed to providing our students with a professional education in diagnostic imaging. The cooperative effort between our faculty and students creates an essential climate for development of clinical competency and a multiplicity of other professional skills. Throughout the student’s education in our program, the profession’s ethical principles and practices are introduced and reinforced.

Program Goals

Upon completion of the program, our students will be prepared to:

Goal 1: Perform all clinical responsibilities in a competent manner.

  • Outcome 1: Students will demonstrate proper use of imaging equipment when performing radiographic examinations.
  • Outcome 2: Students will demonstrate competence when performing complex Imaging cases in RAD 290.

Goal 2: To use principles of critical thinking in solving issues.

  • Outcome 3: Students will use critical thinking to solve problems in the clinical education setting.
  • Outcome 4: Students will use critical thinking in solving exposure related problems in the application of theory to practice.

Goal 3: Demonstrate competent and proficient communication skills.

  • Outcome 5: Students will use professional communication effectively with other professionals in the health care setting.
  • Outcome 6: Students will use effective communication with patients when performing cases in the clinical education setting.

Goal 4: Accomplish all technical tasks and pursue all such actions in professional manner.

  • Outcome 7: Students will demonstrate professional demeanor throughout all patient and professional interactions in class, laboratory and patient care experiences.



The Bergen Community College Radiography program is
accredited with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic
and the New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of
Examiners. This ensures that our graduates will be eligible for the
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
examination in Radiography.
