Testing accommodations are changes in test administration that enable students to participate in tests in a way that allows abilities rather than disabilities to be assessed.
Without accommodations, the test may not accurately measure the student’s knowledge and skills.
A variety of accommodations will be provided to students with disabilities based on approval from the Office of Specialized Services.
Students are required to visit the Office of Specialized Services (Room L-115) to obtain accommodations for testing and classroom accommodations.
Please visit www.backup.bergen.edu/oss for more detailed information regarding documentation submission and guidelines.
Students are encouraged to submit their documentation as soon as possible in order to receive their accommodations in a timely fashion.
Suggested deadline dates for new and incoming students to submit documentation are unique to each campus.
If you have accommodations for Extended Time or Calculator Use, you do not need to make an appointment.
Please refer to our calendar on our website www.backup.bergen.edu/testing for Accuplacer dates and times.
If you have accommodations for a Reader/Scribe or Assistive Technology, or Private Room, you must make an appointment to take the placement test.
